Small white marks are very common.

Usually caused by:

•  Minor nail injury
•  Trauma to the nail bed

Despite popular belief, they’re not usually due to calcium deficiency.

5. Dark Lines (Important to Watch)

Dark streaks or lines running vertically can sometimes be harmless—but should always be checked.

In rare cases, they may be linked to Melanoma, especially if:

•  The line is new
•  It’s getting wider or darker
•  It appears on only one nail

 When in doubt, it’s best to consult a doctor.

6. Pale or White Nails

If nails appear unusually pale, it may be associated with:
