The two homes are the start of the project, and once they’re completed, they’ll be placed on Truesdell Street on the North Side of Binghamton.
Once completed, the Broome County Land Bank will sell the houses to people with low to moderate incomes.
“We’re going to be preparing a list of anybody who’s interested in potentially buying these homes in the future,” said Executive Director of the Broome County Land Bank Robert O’Donnell. “We look forward to being a part of this endeavor, and hopefully not just now, but well into the future.”
For the future, the tiny homes are currently the pilot and proof of concept.
The school and its partners plan on building more tiny homes during the next school year.
